Bolivia takes over two energy companies by decree
LA PAZ, May 1 (Reuters) - Bolivian President Evo Morales decreed on Thursday a government take over of two energy companies.
The companies are Chaco, held by BP Plc (BP.L: Quote, Profile, Research) and Pan American Energy, and a pipeline company belonging to Ashmore Energy International Ltd (ASHM.L: Quote, Profile, Research).
Earlier on Thursday, the government said it had completed the acquisition of majority ownership of those two companies plus two others, but did not say whether it was through deals reached with the companies or by decree.
