Italy's antitrust okays MPS buy of Antonveneta

ROME, May 7 (Reuters) - Italy's Antitrust authority gave its conditional approval on Wednesday to Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena's (BMPS.MI: Quote, Profile, Research) purchase of Antonveneta.

The competition watchdog said Monte Paschi would have to sell between 110 and 125 branches and cut its insurance ties with Unipol (UNPI.MI: Quote, Profile, Research) and Germany's Allianz (ALVG.DE: Quote, Profile, Research).
