Anglo Irish Bank to cut 230 jobs
DUBLIN, Nov 4 (Reuters) - Nationalised Anglo Irish Bank will cut 230 jobs, the first phase of its redundancy programme to reduce the size of the bank, the troubled lender said on Wednesday.
"The redundancies are a result of the planned reduction in the size of the Bank due to necessary restructuring and the transfer of circa 28 billion of loans to NAMA (National Asset Management Agency) in the coming months," the bank said in a statement.
Anglo Irish was the country's No. 3 lender before it was taken under state control in January after being at the centre of a string of scandals at the height of the country's financial crisis. [ID:nLH729143]
