LONDON, Aug 24 (Reuters) - The sickly pharmaceuticals sector could get a shot in the arm next weekend if two new heart drugs from Anglo-Swedish AstraZeneca (AZN.L: Quote, Profile, Research) and unlisted German group Boehringer Ingelheim live up to expectations.
AstraZeneca aims to show at a big cardiology congress in Barcelona that its experimental blood thinner Brilinta has a clear edge over Sanofi-Aventis (SASY.PA: Quote, Profile, Research) and Bristol-Myers Squibb's (BMY.N: Quote, Profile, Research) Plavix, while Boehringer will showcase Pradaxa.
