EDF unit to build wind farms in Canada
PARIS, May 6 (Reuters) - French wind power supplier EDF Energies Nouvelles (EEN.PA: Quote, Profile, Research) has been selected to build five wind farms in Canada's Quebec province, a project worth 2 billion Canadian dollars ($1.98 billion), the company said on Tuesday.
The wind farms would start operating between 2011 and 2015 and have a combined capacity of 954 megawatts, it said.
For the project, EDF Energies Nouvelles would own 60 percent of a consortium that included the Quebec energy company Hydromega and Renewable Energy Systems, which will each own a 20 percent holding, it added.
