Italy environment body OKs Calabria LNG plant-source

ROME, April 23 (Reuters) - An Italian environment commission approved the construction of the Gioia Tauro regasification plant in the southern Calabria region, a environment ministry source said on Wednesday.

The project is run by LNG Med Gas Terminal, in which Italian utilities Iride (IRD.MI: Quote, Profile, Research) and Sorgenia have a stake along with energy company Medgas.
