UPDATE 1-Adecco to cut 350 jobs in France
* Staffing groups hit as companies cut hiring
* Amounts to about 1 pct of full time workforce
(Adds details)
ZURICH, June 17 (Reuters) - The world's largest staffing company Adecco (ADEN.VX: Quote, Profile, Research) is cutting about 350 jobs in France as it tries to find a way through the recession, it said on Wednesday.
Staffing groups across the world, such as Dutch group Randstad (RAND.AS: Quote, Profile, Research) and America's Manpower (MAN.N: Quote, Profile, Research), are facing tough markets as companies cut back on hiring.
Adecco's French subsidiary Adia has informed its work council of its plans to cut the jobs, which amount to about 1 percent of the group's total full-time workforce of 31,000, by the end of 2009, it said in a statement.
About 100 Adia branches will be merged and costs of the reorganisation will be about 25 million euros ($34.7 million), Adecco said. (Reporting by Sam Cage; editing by Elaine Hardcastle)
