CANADA STOCKS-Teck helps TSX close slightly higher

TORONTO, July 3 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index closed slightly higher on Friday as Teck Resources Ltd's (TCKb.TO: Quote, Profile, Research) equity sale to China Investment Corp helped lift the resource-heavy market, but trading volumes were thin due to a U.S. market holiday.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 42.10 points, or 0.41 percent, at 10,288.01. (Reporting by Nina Lex; Editing by Jeffrey Hodgson)
