MILAN, Nov 4 (Reuters) - Italian utility Enel (ENEI.MI: Quote, Profile, Research) will issue its retail bond of up to 4 billion euros at the start of next year, Chief Executive Fulvio Conti said on Wednesday.

Enel said on Wednesday its board has approved the issuance before year-end 2010 of one or more bonds for up to 4 billion euros, aimed mainly at retail investors.

"It will arrive at the start of 2010," Conti said on the sidelines of a parliamentary hearing.
