Pentagon OK's more work on Lockheed cruise missile
WASHINGTON, May 2 (Reuters) - The Defense Department said on Friday it had approved additional work by Lockheed Martin Corp (LMT.N: Quote, Profile, Research) on a $6.1 billion cruise missile program.
The Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile, or JASSM, is used by the U.S. Air Force and Navy to destroy well-defended targets, theoretically with a single missile per mission. (Reporting by Jim Wolf, editing by Gerald E. McCormick)
