NEW YORK, Nov 8 (Reuters) - General Electric Co (GE.N: Quote, Profile, Research). and Comcast Corp (CMCSA.O: Quote, Profile, Research) have agreed on a valuation of around $30 billion for NBC Universal, ironing out what has been a key obstacle in talks to form a joint venture between NBC Universal and Comcast, a source familiar with the matter said on Sunday.

French media conglomerate Vivendi (VIV.PA: Quote, Profile, Research), which owns 20 percent of NBC Universal, has not yet agreed to a deal between GE and Comcast. GE owns 80 percent of NBC Universal. (Reporting by Jui Chakravorty Das, writing by Megan Davies; Editing Bernard Orr)
