America Movil says hopes to renew Ecuador deal

QUITO, April 30 (Reuters) - Mexico's America Movil (AMXL.MX: Quote, Profile, Research) <AMX.N still hopes to strike a deal with Ecuador to renew its contract after it stripped the operating concession of the mobile giant, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

The Mexican company also said the government had applied an "illegal" model to calculate the value of the concession.
