SingTel says Telkomsel doing well despite price war

SINGAPORE, May 14 (Reuters) - Singapore Telecommunications (STEL.SI: Quote, Profile, Research), Southeast Asia's largest phone company, said on Wednesday that PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk TLKM.JK, or Telkomsel, was doing well relative to the market despite a price war.

"Telkomsel is going through a phase where new players are becoming price aggressive, but growth is still strong -- relative to the market, Telkomsel is still performing well," said Lim Chuan Poh, chief executive officer of international operations. (Reporting by Jennifer Tan & Jan Dahinten)
