Russia halts dairy imports from EU president Lithuania

MOSCOW, Oct 7 (Reuters) - Russia suspended imports of dairy products from neighbouring European Union member Lithuania on Monday, turning up trade pressure on the Baltic nation that holds the rotating European Union presidency.

Russia's consumer protection agency cited quality concerns in an announcement of the suspension, which comes before Lithuania hosts a EU summit next month aimed to build closer ties with several former Soviet republics. (Writing by Steve Gutterman)
