South Africa's Fin Min says government will not spend money it does not have

JOHANNESBURG, April 13 (Reuters) - South Africa's new Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba said on Thursday the government would not spend money it did not have "whatever the social pressures may be" and that he would tell investors at an IMF meeting in the U.S. next week that the economy was showing recovery signs.

Gigaba made the remarks during a live interview on public broadcaster SABC shortly after briefing investors at parliament.
