Soccer-Celtic cut Rangers' lead to a point with 2-0 win at Hibs
GLASGOW, March 1 (Reuters) - Defender Lee Naylor scored his first goal for Celtic and substitute Georgios Samaras headed the second in a 2-0 win at Hibernian in the Scottish Premier League on Saturday.
The win cut the lead of city rivals Rangers to one a point, with Rangers at home to Aberdeen later on Saturday.
Celtic survived a couple of early scares. Hibs' John Rankin charged clear on the right in the seventh minute but his low, angled shot from 10 metres was brilliantly blocked by the right boot of Polish keeper Artur Boruc.
Two minutes later Hibs' striker Colin Nish headed in from eight metres only to be ruled offside.
But Celtic dominated for most of the match and Naylor cracked in a fine 12-metre shot on 64 minutes after winning the break of the ball at the edge of the box.
Greek striker Samaras powered home a 10-metre header 10 minutes later from Aiden McGeady's inviting cross. (Reporting by Kenny MacDonald, editing by Clare Lovell)
