Soccer-UEFA probes crowd disturbances at Brann-Everton tie
LONDON, March 4 (Reuters) - UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings following the "improper conduct of supporters" during the UEFA Cup tie between Brann Bergen and Everton in Norway last month.
"Evidence referring to pitch invasions by spectators and the throwing of missiles has been submitted to the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body, which will decide on the matter at its next meeting on Thursday 20 March," UEFA said in a statement on Tuesday.
Everton won the first knockout round, first leg match 2-0 on Feb 13 before thrashing the Norwegians 6-1 at Goodison Park to reach the last 16. (Writing by Justin Palmer, editing by Padraic Halpin)
