LONDON, Jan 31 (Reuters) - Soccer news in brief from around the world:

* Manchester City's French midfielder Ousmane Dabo has returned to Lazio, the English Premier League club said on its Web site (www.mcfc.co.uk).

Dabo, 30, joined City from the Italian side in June 2006 but has made just 18 appearances.

* Rangers goalkeeper Roy Carroll has signed for English Premier League club Derby County until the end of the season.

"It has been a protracted deal but I believe it will be worth the wait because Roy is a great pro and he will come straight into contention for Saturday's game against Birmingham," Derby manager Paul Jewell told the club's Web site (www.dcfc.premiumtv.co.uk).

* Bottom club Derby have also signed 36-year-old Everton defender Alan Stubbs on a free transfer.  Continued...
