LONDON, June 7 (Reuters) - Hull City are close to signing striker Fraizer Campbell from Manchester United after having an offer accepted by the Premier League champions.

"The club can confirm that it has had an offer accepted by Manchester United for Fraizer Campbell," a statement on Hull's website (www.hullcityafc.net) said on Sunday.

"Consequently the club has been given permission to begin talks."

England under-21 international Campbell made a big impact at Hull during the 2007-08 season, helping them to promotion to the Premier League while on loan from United.

He spent last season on loan at Tottenham Hotspur as part of the deal that took Dimitar Berbatov from Spurs to United.
