PM says working to ensure normal winter crop

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - The Indian government is taking steps to ensure a normal winter crop and it is in a strong position to manage the consequences of drought, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said on Tuesday.

Singh said the country has very high food stocks.
