MILAN (Reuters) - Doubles specialist Virginia Ruano Pascual has pulled out of Spain's Fed Cup team to play Italy this weekend for family reasons, the Italian Tennis Federation said in a statement on Thursday.

The world number 78, who reached the doubles semi-finals at this month's Australian Open, will be replaced by one of Carla Suarez, Marta Marrero or Maria Jose Martinez.

The world group first round tie takes place in Naples where Italy's world number 64 Sara Errani hopes to make her Fed Cup debut.

"I am really excited about this call-up. I wasn't expecting it. When captain (Corrado Barazzutti) telephoned me I stayed silent for a quarter of an hour," she said in a statement.
