AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - A police strike forced Dutch officials to call off three matches this Sunday including the top of the table clash between PSV Eindhoven and Ajax Amsterdam.

On Saturday, a court in Utrecht allowed the police to go on strike over a pay dispute despite an appeal from Ajax.

The court verdict led to Mayor Braks of Eindhoven calling off the match between leaders PSV and second-placed Ajax.

"Due to the strike there will not be enough security personnel available to guard the arrival and departure of the fans so I have to cancel the match," Braks told PSV's official Web site (www.psv.nl).

Sunday's league games between AZ Alkmaar and Feyenoord and VVV Venlo and Twente Enschede were also postponed.

The AZ-Feyenoord game is now expected to go ahead on Wednesday. No new dates have yet been announced for the other two fixtures.
