Bernard breaks own 100 freestyle world record

EINDHOVEN, Netherlands (Reuters) - Alain Bernard of France broke the world 100 metres freestyle record at the European swimming championships on Saturday, beating the mark he set on Friday.

Bernard clocked 47.50 seconds to beat the 47.60 he clocked the previous day.
