Sri Lanka lose injured Maharoof for Asian Cup cricket

REUTERS - Sri Lanka fast-bowling all rounder Farveez Maharoof has been ruled out of the Asia Cup with an abdominal strain.

Maharoof, 23, picked up the injury on Friday while bowling in the final warm-up game before the team's departure for Pakistan on Sunday.

Sri Lanka team physiotherapist Ranjith Nanayakkarawasam expects Maharoof to be out of action until the end of July and fast bowler Thilan Thushara has been called up as his replacement.
