SOFIA (Reuters) - Former Bulgaria striker Luboslav Penev, who retired in 2002, said he was considering a return to the game, playing for CSKA Sofia.

Penev, who formed a formidable international partnership with Hristo Stoichkov in the 1980s and 1990s, was appointed CSKA coach in March, replacing his uncle Dimitar Penev.

"I'm still on the pitch every day so I may get a registration for next season," Penev, 42, told reporters following CSKA's final league match of the season against Lokomotiv Mezdra on Saturday.

CSKA failed to retain the league title after being overtaken in mid-May by bitter city rivals Levski Sofia.

Penev, who scored 80 goals in 101 matches for CSKA between 1984 and 1989, also played in Spain for Valencia, Atletico Madrid, Compostela and Celta Viga.
