(Reuters) - Here’s a look at the form and previous records of Briton Andy Murray and Argentine Juan Martin del Potro ahead of their third-round match at the French Open on Saturday (prefix number denotes seeding):
1-Andy Murray (Britain)
Murray, 2016 French Open runner-up, has dropped two sets in his first two matches at Roland Garros this week and has failed to rediscover his touch on clay.
The Scot was struggling for form before arriving at the French capital, losing to players outside the top 25 in Rome and Madrid during the claycourt season.
He was diagnosed with shingles in February and sustained an elbow injury in March before being laid low by illness last week.
29-Juan Martin del Potro (Argentina)
The Argentine progressed to the third round after his opponent Nicolas Almagro retired with a knee injury.
The 29th seed has suffered his own injury setbacks in recent years and is playing in only his third grand slam since the 2014 Australian Open.
Del Potro, a 2009 semi-finalist, has failed to live up to expectations on clay this season. He suffered a second-round defeat in Lyon and a quarter-final exit in Rome last month.
