BEIJING (Reuters) - India's Sushil Kumar won the bronze medal in the men's 66kg freestyle wrestling event at the Beijing Olympics on Wednesday.

In the two bronze medal bouts, Kumar beat Leonid Spiridonov of Kazakhstan while Georgia's Otar Tushishvili got the better of Cuba's Geandry Garzon.

Ramazan Sahin won Turkey's first gold medal of the Olympics with a narrow victory in the final.

Sahin came on strong in the third period to beat Ukraine's Andriy Stadnik and continue his country's proud Olympic wrestling tradition which now totals 28 golds.

The 25-year-old's 3-1 victory completed a treble which also includes the 2007 world championships and European championship crown this year in Finland.
