U.S. expects progress on arms control at Moscow summit
MOSCOW (Reuters) - A summit meeting on Monday between U.S. President Barack Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will achieve progress on an arms control treaty, a top White House official said.
"We think the summit will register progress toward an agreement," Gary Samore, special assistant to Obama and the White House Coordinator for Weapons of Mass Destruction, told reporters on Sunday evening.
Samore said he expected an announcement about the issue to be made on Monday.
