ANKARA, Feb 22 (Reuters) - Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Wednesday.
The lira stood at 3.6200 against the dollar at 0521 GMT, firming slightly from Tuesday's close of 3.6221.
The yield on the benchmark 10-year bond was at 10.84 percent in both spot trade on Tuesday and Wednesday-dated trade.
The main share index rose 0.47 percent to 88,965.14 points on Monday.
Asian stocks rose on Wednesday, joining a record-setting session for global markets as investors cheered upbeat factory activity in Europe and solid earnings on Wall Street. But the dollar dipped, reversing an earlier rise made on hawkish comments from Federal Reserve officials.
Spain's second-biggest lender, BBVA, said on Tuesday it had agreed to buy an extra 9.95 percent of Turkey's Garanti Bank from Dogus Holding for 859 million euros ($905 million), bringing its stake to just under 50 percent.
Turkey's parliament on Tuesday stripped one of the pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party's (HDP) two leaders of her status as a member of parliament and jailed the other, weeks ahead of a referendum on extending the president's powers.
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan will attend an awards ceremony at 1100 (0800 GMT), where he is expected to make a speech.
President Erdogan's spokesman, Ibrahim Kalin, will hold a news conference at 1300 (1000 GMT).
Turkish Foreign Minster Mevlut Cavusoglu will attend a conference with his Azeri counterpart at 1000 (0700 GMT).
Turkish Finance Minister Naci Agbal will be interviewed by broadcaster NTV at 0900 (0600 GMT).
Turkey's central bank will release its real sector confidence index for February at 1430 (1130 GMT).
The Turkish affiliate of French supermarket chain Carrefour plans to hire at least 3,000 new workers and invest at least 100 million lira ($29 million) on its business this year, its general manager said on Tuesday.
