BERLIN (Reuters) - German officials must get access to Deniz Yucel, a spokesman for the German Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday, referring to the German-Turkish journalist whose arrest in Turkey has resulted in a souring of relations between Ankara and Berlin.

"Of course it is imperative for us to now establish consular contact with Mr Yucel and to speak to him ourselves," a spokesman for the German Foreign Ministry said at a regular government news conference in Berlin.
