Patricia weakens to tropical depression over Mexico: NHC

(Reuters) - Patricia, one of the strongest ever hurricanes, weakened further on Saturday to a tropical depression over Mexico after crashing into the country as a very powerful hurricane on Friday evening, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.

Patricia’s maximum sustained winds dropped to 35 miles per hour (55 kph), the Miami-based center said.
