SNAPSHOT-US STOCKS-Wall St advances as oil price leaps
NEW YORK, May 28 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks rose on Thursday as a surge in crude oil prices lifted energy shares, sending the benchmark S&P 500 to a session high.
* Results of an auction of seven-year U.S. government bonds sparked no fresh concern about demand for government debt.
* U.S. front-month crude CLc1 jumped 2.7 percent, or $1.73, to $65.19 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
* The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI was up 76.78 points, or 0.93 percent, at 8,376.80. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index .SPX was up 12.05 points, or 1.35 percent, at 905.11.
