Saudi Arabia says no negotiations over Qatar demands
WASHINGTON Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said on Tuesday that there would be no negotiations over demands by the kingdom and other Arab states for Qatar to stop supporting terrorism.
WASHINGTON President Barack Obama said on Friday his conversations with President-elect Donald Trump have been cordial and in some cases he made specific suggestions and offered thoughts about maintaining the integrity of democratic institutions.
"He has listened. I can't say that he will end up implementing, but the conversations themselves have been cordial," Obama said at a White House news conference.

WASHINGTON/MOSCOW A U.S. warning to Syria's leadership against staging a chemical weapons attack was based on intelligence about what appeared to be active preparations at a Syrian airfield used for such an attack in April, U.S. officials said on Tuesday.
