MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian 1,500 metres runner Yelena Soboleva and the women's 4x800 relay team set world indoor records at the national championships on Sunday.

Soboleva clocked three minutes 58.05 seconds to better her previous 1,500 world mark of 3:58.28 set in Moscow on Feb. 18, 2006.

The second record of the day went to Yevgenia Zinurova, Olga Kotlyarova, Maria Savinova and Natalia Ignatova, who clocked 8:14.53 seconds in the rarely run 4x800 metres.

They took more than four seconds off the previous best time of 8:18.54, which was set by another Russian quartet at last year's nationals on Feb. 11, 2007.
