Bryan puts Beijing gold top of his 2008 wish list
By Jon Bramley
VIENNA (Reuters) - Bob Bryan put Olympic gold at the top of his wish list of tennis double titles in 2008 after helping guide the United States to a comfortable 4-1 victory over Austria in their first-round defence of the Davis Cup.
The 29-year-old and his twin brother Mike have won every major doubles title the sport has to offer -- bar the Olympics.
"If you put me on the spot and asked me to pick one we want to win most it would have to be the Olympics," Bryan told a news conference after winning the final singles rubber on Sunday.
"The Olympics are just huge and have such a special atmosphere plus you're with all the other athletes there."
Bryan said that a tally of 44 doubles titles, and triumphs in all four grand slam tournaments, had left few events which "really get the juices going".
"I would say only the Davis Cup and the slams can really do that for us -- plus the Olympics," he said.
