SYDNEY (Reuters) - Stephanie Rice set a world record of four minutes 31.46 seconds for the women's 400 metres individual medley at the Australian Olympic trials on Saturday.
Rice, 19, sliced 1.43 off the previous record of 4:32.89 set by American Katie Hoff at last year's world championships in Melbourne.
