Cancellara wins Tour of Switzerland first stage
RUGGELL, Liechtenstein (Reuters) - Switzerland's Fabian Cancellara won the opening individual time trial in the Tour of Switzerland on Saturday.
The Saxo Bank rider set a time of nine minutes and 21 seconds over the 7.8km course from Mauren to Ruggell.
Last year's winner Roman Kreuziger of the Czech Republic was 19 seconds slower, with Germany's Andreas Kloden third at 22 seconds.
Cancellara will wear the race leader's yellow jersey during Sunday's 149.8km second stage that starts and finishes in the Swiss ski resort of Davos.
The nine-day Tour of Switzerland is part of cycling's ProTour series and ends in Berne next Sunday.
