CHENNAI (Reuters) - India's Saina Nehwal has suffered a setback in her preparations for next month's world championships when the world number six was diagnosed with chickenpox.
"We expect Saina to recover before the worlds but we will have to wait and see how match fit she would be," national coach Pullela Gopichand told Reuters on Thursday. "It's definitely a setback."
The 19-year-old won the Indonesian Super Series title last month, raising hopes of a similar display at the Aug. 10-16 world championships in her home town of Hyderabad.
World junior champion Nehwal became the first Indian woman to reach the Olympic singles quarter-finals in Beijing last year.
