Name Description

Hee Kiang Lim

Mr. Lim (Michael) Hee Kiang has been Independent Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Sumatec Resources Bhd since August 25, 2016, after being its Independent Non-Executive Director since January 23, 2014. He holds Bachelors of Laws with Honours in 1972 and Master of Laws with Distinction from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand in 1973. He was admitted to practice law in the Supreme Court of New Zealand in 1973 and High Court of Borneo, Kuching and the High Court of Brunei in 1974. After one year, he left to join the Law Faculty of University Malaya in KL in 1975 and took up a position as a lecturer. After his stints in University Malaya, he joined Messrs. Shearn Delamore & Co in 1978 and was made a partner of the firm in the next year. He has worked with the same firm for 31 years, specializing in company and securities law before retiring in 2010. Currently, he is a consultant with Messrs Jeff Leong, Poon & Wong. He sat on the Board of various public listed companies, including DKSH Holdings (Malaysia) Berhad, Selangor Properties Berhad, Paragon Union Berhad and Hektar Real Estate Investment Trust.

Kok Lip Chang

Dr. Chang Kok Lip has been appointed as Chief Technology Officer of the Company, effective 03 Jan 2017. He hold PHD in Seismology, Victoria University of Wellington, Master of Science in Meteorology, Victoria University of Wellington, Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Geophysics, Victoria University of Wellington, Bachelor of Science in Physics, Victoria University of Wellington, He was Vice President Exploration of CLIQ Energy Berhad, Malaysia.

Abu Talib abdul Rahman

Encik Abu Talib bin Abdul Rahman is Managing Director, Executive Director at Sumatec Resources Berhad. He has been Non-Executive Independent Director at Ranhill Holdings Berhad since December 1, 2015. He holds a Bachelor of Law (Honours) degree from University of London since 1979 and obtained the Certificate of Legal Practice in 1984 from Lembaga Kelayakan Malaysia. In 1986 he was called to the Malaysian Bar. He has since been a member of the Malaysian Bar where he currently sits as a member of the Disciplinary Board and a Notary Public. Prior to his commencement of his legal practice in 1986, he started his career as a banker with Bank Pertanian Malaysia. He then moved to work in Asiavest Merchant Bankers Berhad before getting further experiences with Bank Bumiputera Malaysia Berhad in 1981 up to 1985. During his tenure at Bank Bumiputera Malaysia Berhad, he was also entrusted to supervise the construction of building and Putra World Trade Centre until completion from 1981 to 1984. From 1986 to 1991, he worked as partner of two other legal firms before establishing Messrs Abu Talib Shahrom (formerly known as Messrs Abu Talib & Zahari). Being a founding partner of Messrs Abu Talib Shahrom, his area of legal expertise encompasses area in corporate, secretarial, corporate finance, banking, contracts and construction and private finance initiative. Currently he is Company Secretary for a few Malaysia companies including Keretapi Tanah Melayu and its group of companies. He also sits as directors of a number of private companies in Malaysia namely South Klang Valley Expressway and Markmore Sdn Bhd and its group of companies.

Encik Mahusni Bin Hasnan has been Non-Executive Independent Director at Sumatec Resources Berhad since October 20, 2016. He has been Chairman of its Audit Committee since October 25, 2016. He holds Master in Finance, University of Hull, England-April 1999 and Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Degree in Accounting & Finance, Thames Valley University , London, England-July 1988. His experience includes: 1990-1992 : started as an Assessment Officer in Inland Revenue Department; 1992-1993 : Senior Tax Consultant in Arthur Andersen Tax Services Sdn Bhd; 1994-1997 : Senior Executive Officer in issues and Investment Division in Securities Commission; 1997-2001 : General Manager Corporate and Group Financial Controller in Amtel Holdings Berhad; 2002-2003 : First Vice President in Affin Merchant Bank Berhad; 2006-2007 : Executive Director in Aftaas Corporate Advisory Services Sdn Bhd; June- August 2007 : Group General Manager - Corporate Finance & Planning in Terengganu Incorporated Berhad; November 2007-January 2011: Chief Financial Officer in Scomi India, Head of Commercial Alliances in Scomi International, Head of Sosma in Scomi Chemical, Senior General Manager - Strategic Development; March 2011-December 2011 : Chief Executive Officer in JP Logistics Sdn Bhd (subsidiary of Johor Port Berhad); and 2012-2014 : Chief Executive Officer in Seaport Worldwide Sdn Bhd (subsidiary of Johor Port Berhad).

Mohamad Bin Ismail

Mr. Mohamad Bin Ismail has been Independent Non-Executive Director of Sumatec Resources Bhd since August 15, 2013. He has been Member of the Audit Committee since August 15, 2013. He started his career as a Reservoir Engineer (Exploration and Production Department) of Petronas in 1977 and was appointed as Head of Drilling and Production Operations in 1980 before assuming the position as the Regional Operations Manager for Petronas Carigali for Baram Delta Operations in Miri (Sarawak) in 1984. He was promoted in 1996 to become the General Manager for Petronas Indochina based in Hanoi, Vietnam. In 2000, he moved on to assume the position as General Manager for Exploration and Production Division of Greater Nile Petroleum Operating Company (GNPOC), a Joint Venture company between Petronas, Talisman and Sudan Petroleum based in Sudan. He was appointed Country Manager for Africa, Middle East and Asia for Petronas Carigali in 2003 before moving back to Kuala Lumpur to take up the position of Head of Production Operations in Petronas E&P Services Company in 2005. In 2006, he took up the job of Vice President (Business Development) for Bergesen Worldwide Offshore, a public listed company based in Oslo Norway before setting up his own business in 2010. He has a total of 23 years of experience in the upstream business of Exploration and Production in the oil and gas industry. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (Chemical Engineering) from the University of Malaya.
