Kamaruddin Bin Dato' Biji Sura

Wan Kamaruddin Bin Dato' Biji Sura @ Wan Abdullah serves as Executive Vice Chairman of the Board of Sumatec Resources Bhd since August 27, 2003. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Brighton Polytechnic (University of Brighton), UK. He started his career with Tenaga Nasional Berhad where he worked in the operations and turbine maintenance department. In 1987, he joined Sarawak Shell as a Rotating Equipment Engineer and progressed through a series of positions including Project Engineer, Senior Facilities Engineer and Company Representative on the M3 Integrated Deck fabrication and the Beryl/Helang development projects. In 1996, he was seconded to Shell Malaysia Trading as the Project Manager for the PETRONAS/Shell joint-venture Multi-Product Pipeline and Klang Valley Distribution Project. He has twenty-over years of experience in the operation, maintenance and construction of oil & gas facilities.

Roshidah Abdullah

Ms. Roshidah Abdullah is Chief Financial Officer of Sumatec Resources Bhd. She Bachelor of Accounting from South Australian Institute of Technology (University of South Australia), Australia. She is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA), Australia and Chartered Accountant, Malaysia. She has in total 24 years experience in financial management, corporate strategy development and operations management in wholesale distribution, manufacturing and marketing organisations. She has worked in various industry sectors including pharmaceutical, construction and engineering, and diversified conglomerate. She spent 15 years from 1995 to 2008 and 2010 to 2011 with Pharmaniaga Berhad and its group companies in various capacities. She started as the Finance Manager in a subsidiary, Remedi Pharmaceuticals (M) Sdn Bhd, and later appointed as the Chief Financial Officer in 2003 and Chief Operating Officer in 2006. She also has 2 years working experience with UEM Group Berhad and UEM Builders Berhad from 2008 to 2010 as the Director of Finance and Corporate Services. Her last employment prior to joining the Company was as an Associate Director with Renoex International Sdn Bhd, a project management and business partnering consultancy services company.

Yok Peng Chan

Mr. Chan Yok Peng has been Managing Director, Executive Director of Sumatec Resources Bhd since January 4, 2016, after being its Non-Independent Non-Executive Director since February 17, 2014. He served as Managing Director and Executive Director from August 27, 2003 to February 17, 2014. He is a member of the Remuneration Committee. He holds a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering (Honors) from University of Malaya and is registered as a professional Mechanical Engineer with the Board of Engineers, Malaysia. He also holds a Certified Accounting and Finance from the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (ACCA), United Kingdom. He is a fellow member of the Institute of Engineers, Malaysia. He started his career as a Project Engineer with Jurong Engineering Pte Ltd (Singapore) and later joined FELDA as an Assistant Mill Manager before joining ESSO Production Malaysia Incorporated in 1980. He was involved in the construction of the RM650 million ESSO Terengganu Crude Oil Terminal including the supervision of pipe coating and laying of 123miles of 24-inch submarine pipeline from offshore Tapis Pumping Platform to Kerteh, Terengganu where the Crude Oil Terminal is located. He later joined Tenaga Waja Sdn Bhd, a joint-venture of Wah Chang International of Singapore and Malaysian Bumiputra businessman, before starting his own business via Sumatec Corporation Sdn Bhd in 1985.

Abu Talib bin Abdul Rahman

Encik Abu Talib bin Abdul Rahman has been Non-Independent Non-Executive Director at Sumatec Resources Berhad since July 1, 2016. He has been Non-Executive Independent Director at Ranhill Holdings Berhad since December 1, 2015. He holds a Bachelor of Law (Honours) degree from University of London since 1979 and obtained the Certificate of Legal Practice in 1984 from Lembaga Kelayakan Malaysia. In 1986 he was called to the Malaysian Bar. He has since been a member of the Malaysian Bar where he currently sits as a member of the Disciplinary Board and a Notary Public. Prior to his commencement of his legal practice in 1986, he started his career as a banker with Bank Pertanian Malaysia. He then moved to work in Asiavest Merchant Bankers Berhad before getting further experiences with Bank Bumiputera Malaysia Berhad in 1981 up to 1985. During his tenure at Bank Bumiputera Malaysia Berhad, he was also entrusted to supervise the construction of building and Putra World Trade Centre until completion from 1981 to 1984. From 1986 to 1991, he worked as partner of two other legal firms before establishing Messrs Abu Talib Shahrom (formerly known as Messrs Abu Talib & Zahari). Being a founding partner of Messrs Abu Talib Shahrom, his area of legal expertise encompasses area in corporate, secretarial, corporate finance, banking, contracts and construction and private finance initiative. Currently he is the named Company Secretary for a few Malaysia companies including Keretapi Tanah Melayu and its group of companies. He also sits as directors of a number of private companies in Malaysia namely South Klang Valley Expressway and Markmore Sdn Bhd and its group of companies.

Boon Keat Liew

Mr. Liew Boon Keat has been Non-Independent Non-Executive Director at Sumatec Resources Berhad since July 1, 2016. He holds Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Degree in Finance and Economics, University of Kentucky, United States of America. From 1997-2001, he stared as a Manager in Finance Division with Tenaga Nasional Berhad's (TNB) subsidiary company, Tenaga Nasional Engineering and Consultancy Sdn Bhd where he worked in the Project and Implementation of Fibre Optic Cable in the Central and Eastern part of Malaysia. From 2001-2002, he was Vice President (Business Development) of Citibank Berhad, a Global Consumer Bank, USA. He has been with Markmore Group of Companies in the Finance and Investment Division since 2002 and now serves as Group Financial Controller.

Ahmad Johari Bin Abdul Razak

Mr. Ahmad Johari Bin Abdul Razak serves as Independent Non-Executive Director of Sumatec Resources Berhad since July 10, 2014. He holds Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from University of Kent, UK. He was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1977. He is a partner of a legal firm, Messrs Shearn Delamore & Co. in the Corporate and Commercial Department involved in all the work in the Department particularly in relation to advising on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, restructuring and listing of public companies. He also heads the Competition Law Practice Group in Messrs Shearn Delamore & Co. He sits on the Board of Directors of several listed public companies namely Ancom Berhad, Hong Leong Industries Berhad, Daiman Development Berhad and Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad. He also sits on the Board of Deutsche Bank (Malaysia) Berhad and Daiman Golf Berhad.

Mokhtar bin Che Ali

Che Mokhtar bin Che Ali serves as Independent Non-Executive Director of Sumatec Resources Bhd since January 13, 2014. He holds Bachelor of Arts (Political Science and Public Administration) and a Bachelor of Law from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. He was admitted as a Solicitor and Barrister of the New Zealand Supreme Court in 1980 and was later admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya three years later. He has also served as a Magistrate and Deputy Public Prosecutor. With almost 30 years of experience as a legal practitioner, he has served as a member of the Disciplinary Committee Panel of the Advocates and Solicitors Disciplinary Board and acted as the Chairman of the Committee. He was also appointed as a Notary Public by the Attorney General of Malaysia. As an advocate and solicitor, he has acted for various private and public companies, banking institutions, developers, and statutory bodies, such as Datuk Bandar Kuala Lumpur. He is the founder partner of Messrs Che Mokhtar & Ling a legal firm in Kuala Lumpur. He currently serves as Director, Chairman of Remuneration and Nomination Committee, Whistleblower Committee and member of the Audit Committee of Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn. Bhd. He also holds directorship in several private companies, including KYS College Sdn. Bhd. He was formerly a Director, Chairman of Audit Committee, member of the Tender Committee and Remuneration Committee of Focal Aims Holdings Bhd.

Mohamad Bin Ismail

Mr. Mohamad Bin Ismail has been Independent Non-Executive Director of Sumatec Resources Bhd since August 15, 2013. He has been Member of the Audit Committee since August 15, 2013. He started his career as a Reservoir Engineer (Exploration and Production Department) of Petronas in 1977 and was appointed as Head of Drilling and Production Operations in 1980 before assuming the position as the Regional Operations Manager for Petronas Carigali for Baram Delta Operations in Miri (Sarawak) in 1984. He was promoted in 1996 to become the General Manager for Petronas Indochina based in Hanoi, Vietnam. In 2000, he moved on to assume the position as General Manager for Exploration and Production Division of Greater Nile Petroleum Operating Company (GNPOC), a Joint Venture company between Petronas, Talisman and Sudan Petroleum based in Sudan. He was appointed Country Manager for Africa, Middle East and Asia for Petronas Carigali in 2003 before moving back to Kuala Lumpur to take up the position of Head of Production Operations in Petronas E&P Services Company in 2005. In 2006, he took up the job of Vice President (Business Development) for Bergesen Worldwide Offshore, a public listed company based in Oslo Norway before setting up his own business in 2010. He has a total of 23 years of experience in the upstream business of Exploration and Production in the oil and gas industry. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (Chemical Engineering) from the University of Malaya.

Hee Kiang Lim

Mr. Lim (Michael) Hee Kiang serves as Independent Non-Executive Director of Sumatec Resources Bhd since January 23, 2014. He holds Bachelors of Laws with Honours in 1972 and Master of Laws with Distinction from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand in 1973. He was admitted to practice law in the Supreme Court of New Zealand in 1973 and High Court of Borneo, Kuching and the High Court of Brunei in 1974. After one (1) year, he left to join the Law Faculty of University Malaya in KL in 1975 and took up a position as a lecturer. After his stints in University Malaya, he joined Messrs. Shearn Delamore & Co in 1978 and was made a partner of the firm in the next year. He has worked with the same firm for 31 years, specializing in company and securities law before retiring in 2010. Currently, he is a consultant with Messrs Jeff Leong, Poon & Wong. He sits on the Board of various public listed companies, including DKSH Holdings (Malaysia) Berhad, Selangor Properties Berhad, Paragon Union Berhad and Hektar Real Estate Investment Trust.
