US Silica Holdings, Inc., incorporated on November 14, 2008, is a domestic producer of commercial silica, a specialized mineral. The Company operates in two segments: Oil & Gas Proppants and Industrial & Specialty Products. It includes oil and gas, glass, chemicals, foundry, building products, fillers and extenders, recreation, industrial filtration and treatment, and testing and analysis. The Company’s products include proppants, whole grain silica, ground silica, fine ground silica, testing silica, recreational silica, aplite, kaolin, hydrous kaolin and FLORISIL. It also operates as a research and development specialist for customized products and solutions. The Company serves a range of industries and applications, which includes oil and gas, glass, chemicals, foundry, building products, fillers and extenders, recreation, industrial filtration and treatment, and testing and analysis. As of February 26, 2013, it operates 15 production facilities across the United States and controls 307 million tons of reserves, including approximately 144 million tons of reserves that can be processed to meet the American Petroleum Institute (API) frac sand size specifications. In August 2014, U.S. Silica Holdings Inc acquired Cadre Services Inc., a regional sand mining company based in Voca, Texas.
The Company sells whole grain commercial silica products in a range of shapes, sizes and purity levels. The Company also produces and marketsfine ground silica in sizes ranging from 5 to 40 microns for use in premium paints, specialty coatings, sealants, silicone rubber and epoxies. The Company also produces and sells certain other industrial mineral products, such as aplite, calcined kaolin clay and magnesium silicate.
Oil & Gas
The Company’s oil and gas segment include OTTAWA WHITE and SHALE FRAC product lines. The Company has a selection of offerings from number of mining and transload locations.
Industrial & Specialty Products
The Company’s Industrial & Specialty Products segment consists of over 250 products and materials. It is used in a variety of industries including, container glass, fiberglass, specialty glass, flat glass, building products, fillers and extenders, foundry products, chemicals, recreation products and filtration products.
