Profile: Sinar Mas Agro Resources and Technology Tbk PT (SMAR.JK)

PT Sinar Mas Agro Resources and Technology Tbk (SMART) is an Indonesia-based integrated palm-based consumer company. Its primary activities range from cultivating and harvesting oil palm trees, processing fresh fruit bunches (FFB) into crude palm oil (CPO) and palm kernel (PK), to refining CPO into industrial and consumer products such as cooking oil, margarine and shortening. The Company cultivates approximately 139,000 hectares of oil palm plantations in Indonesia, including plasma. SMART also distributes, markets and exports palm-based consumer products. Besides bulk and industrial oil, SMART’s refined products are also marketed under several brands, such as Filma and Kunci Mas. As of December 31, 2011, the Company had 15 subsidiaries.
