Mr. Ivor Wekesa has been Director, Risk Management at Safaricom Limited since March 2011. He was previously the Chief Risk Officer responsible for risk management. Mr. Wekesa joined Safaricom in January 2007 as Senior Manager in Charge of Audit from East African Portland Cement where he held the position of Internal Audit Manager. Prior to taking up his current position he held the position of Head of Business Improvement and Controls. Mr. Wekesa has over 15 years’ experience in audit having worked at Nation Media Group, Lonrho Africa and Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers). Mr. Wekesa has a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Accounting option) from the University of Nairobi. He is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
