TOKYO, Nov 16 Japan's largest oil refiner JX holdings Inc is in talks to merge with TonenGeneral Sekiyu, the Nikkei reported on Monday, potentially creating a company that will control more than half of a market in long-term decline.

TOKYO, Nov 12 Japan's Idemitsu Kosan Co and Showa Shell Sekiyu said they agreed to merge, sealing a combination that was mooted earlier this year to create the second-biggest operator in the crowded Japanese refinery sector.
TOKYO Japan's Idemitsu Kosan Co is buying a one-third stake in refiner Showa Shell Sekiyu from Royal Dutch Shell , moving it closer to a potential $4 billion bid for its smaller rival in the country's cutthroat refining sector.

TOKYO, July 30 Idemitsu Kosan Co Ltd, Japan's second-biggest refiner, has agreed to buy about a 33 percent stake held by Royal Dutch Shell in fifth-ranked Showa Shell Sekiyu for about 160 billion yen ($1.3 billion), the Nikkei business daily reported.
