LONDON/JOHANNESBURG, July 30 - Platinum producer Lonmin is facing its deepest crisis to date, hurt by a downturn in the metal and haunted by a mixture of bad luck and debatable management choices that are putting its survival at risk.

JOHANNESBURG, July 24 - Platinum producer Lonmin said on Friday it was planning to close or mothball several mine shafts, putting 6,000 South African jobs at risk, because of depressed metal prices.
July 24 - South Africa's Lonmin Plc, the world's fourth-largest platinum producer by value, said it would close two of its shafts, affecting about 6,000 workers including contractors.
LONDON, June 26 - Shares in London-listed platinum producer Lonmin dropped to their lowest level in 3-1/2 months on Friday, after an inquiry into the killing of 34 miners during a 2012 strike put some of the blame on the company.

LONDON, June 12 - Shares in Lonmin fell by 5 percent on Friday and were set for their biggest weekly loss in almost three months after Glencore handed over its stake to its shareholders this week, highlighting investor concern over South Africa's troubled platinum sector.
