NEW DELHI, Nov 27 - Indian state-run NTPC Ltd has set coupon rates for its up to 17.5 billion rupees ($280 million) tax free bond issue that opens on Dec. 3, for maturities ranging from 10 to 20 years, the power producer said on Wednesday.

NEW DELHI, Nov 25 - India's top power producer NTPC Ltd is looking to import 12 million tonnes of thermal coal a year on a long-term basis starting 2018, compared with 16 million tonnes currently, as it looks to reduce dependence on costly shipments.

NEW DELHI - State utility NTPC will seek another 4 million tonnes of thermal coal shipments in this financial year, following its current tender to import 5 million tonnes of the dry fuel to bridge an expected shortfall in local supplies.
NEW DELHI - State utility NTPC has issued seven tenders to buy a total 5 million tonnes of imported thermal coal, a company official said. The imports will bridge a shortfall in local supplies that it expects in the year to March 2014.
