Times Ltd. is engaged in the operation of hypermarkets and supermarkets in the People Republic of China. As at February 6, 2009, the Company operated 67 stores, including 53 hypermarkets and 14 supermarkets with a total gross floor area of approximately 872,430 square meters. The Company offers a range of merchandises to customers in three principal categories, fresh food and delicatessen, groceries and household supplies, and general household products and merchandise. Fresh food and delicatessen include fresh food, such as fruits and vegetables, seafood, meat, bakery products and cooked deli. Groceries and household supplies includes groceries, such as canned or dried food, cooking ingredients, confectionery and snacks, wine and beverages, fast moving consumer products, general supplies for daily needs. General household products and merchandise includes general daily household products, clothing, shoes, hats, knitting products, and home electrical appliances.

BRIEF: For the six months ended 30 June 2009, Times Ltd's revenues increased 3% to RMB2.15B. Net income decreased 13% to RMB77.5M. Revenues reflect an increase in sales of merchandise products & services. Net income was offset by decreased government subsidies & other income, higher cost of sales expenses, increased selling & distribution costs, higher finance expenses and lower gross margin & operating margin.
