GCL-Poly Energy Holdings Limited is a foreign-owned independent cogeneration plant operator in the People's Republic of China. It is engaged in the development, investment, management and operation of cogeneration and power plants, and trading of coal in the People's Republic of China. The different types of power plants within the Company include coal-fired cogeneration plants, gas-fired cogeneration plants, resources utilization cogeneration plants, biomass fuelled cogeneration plants, municipal solid waste incineration plant and a wind power plant. As of December 31, 2008, it had 19 operational subsidiary and associated power plants with an aggregate installed capacity of 1,050 megawatts. In January 2008, it acquired a 49% interest in China Resources Golden Concord (Beijing) Co-generation Power Co., Ltd. In March 2008, the Company acquired Xilingol Guotai Wind Power Generation Co., Ltd.On July 31, 2009, it acquired Jiangsu Zhongneng Polysilicon Technology Development Co., Ltd.

BRIEF: For the six months ended 30 June 2009, GCL-Poly Energy Holdings Limited's revenues increased 9% to RMB1.95B. Net income totaled RMB71.8M, up from RMB20.5M. Revenues reflect an increase in sales of electricity and higher income from sale of steam. Net income also reflects an increase in gross profit margin, decreased distribution & selling expenses and a decrease in finance costs on bank borrowings.
