NIPPON MINING HOLDINGS, INC. is a Japan-based holding company mainly engaged in the oil and metal businesses. The Company operates in three business groups. The Oil group is engaged in the development and drilling of oil and natural gas, the manufacture and sale of gasoline, naphtha, kerosene, light oil, heavy oil, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), lubricant and petrochemicals. The Metal group is engaged in the development and mining of non-ferrous metal resources, the manufacture and sale of copper, gold, silver, sulfuric acid, copper film, film materials, precision rolled products and precision processed products, as well as non-ferrous metal recycle and industrial waste processing businesses. The Others group is engaged in the manufacture and sale of titan and electrical wires, as well as engineering business. Additionally, the Company also provides shipping service for its businesses.

BRIEF: For the six months ended 30 September 2009, Nippon Mining Holdings Ltd.'s revenues decreased 38% to Y1.469T. The Company's net income decreased 59% to Y18.77B. Revenues reflect lower sales from crude petroleum, metals and others business segments due to decreased demand from customers. Lower net income also suffers from unfavorable operating margin, as well as the absence of Y1.08B gain on sale of affiliated securities.
