BRIEF: For the six months ended 30 September 2009, Shinsei Bank, Limited.'s interest income rose 22% to Y151.46B. Net interest income after LLP totaled Y74.13B, up from Y32.17B. Net income totaled Y11.06B, vs. a loss of Y19.28B. Net interest income after LLP reflects higher interest income on loans, benefits from lower interest expense on bond. Net income also benefits from the decreased fees and commissions expense.
